Our goals for this system are as follows:


- have something that's more fun than straight rolls
- add a taste of strategy
- showcase personal character skills/extremely customizable
- not overly difficult with lots of math (we want Role play, not ROLL play ;) )
- connect it directly to training


-D20 system
-Character base health 100
-All skills above basic used once per fight (pass or fail), reset per DM discretion
-Basic skills reset immediately and can be used indefinitely (no utility in Basic)
-DC = Roll this number or above for successful hit
-Utility moves may be chosen instead of damage/heal moves for any slot above Basic
-DCs are halved when attacking stunned targets

Moves are not unlocked until they are trained IC through rp!

Crit succeed (20/20): Add 10 damage
Crit fail (1/20): Take 10 damage

Utilities
Most Utilities are self-explanatory, but here's a breakdown to help make them consistent. The following are active for one round. Boss vulnerability per DM discretion. Can be force moves, items of power, or special tech to achieve these. Cannot be placed in Basic slots.

Stun: Target skips a turn. DCs are halved when attacking stunned targets.
Silence - target cannot cast Force abilities
Blindness - Skills of Blinded opponent that require a target have an increased DC of +4
Deafness - Skills targeting Deafened target have a decreased DC of -2
Slow - Skills of Slowed target have an increased DC of +2
Shields: May be used as a reactive (roll is still necessary), but uses up the player's turn for that round.

EXCEPTION: A shield may be put in a basic slot if it is also a taunt. This taunt/shield must be used on-turn.

NOTE: In training, the student may learn a maximum of two combat skills and perform one trial per week, after Basic skills.

Basic Skill Evolution
Basic Skill DC's start at 12.
When a student progresses to Novice Appretnice, Basic Skill DC's become 10.
When a student progresses to Apprentice, Basic Skill DC's become 8.
When a student progresses to Lord, Basic Skill DC's become 6.

Darth
When a Lord becomes a Darth, subtract 1 from ALL DC's on the Sheet, and add 5 to ALL damage.

ITEMS OF POWER

An item of power is collected from a Trial of Power. They are normallly specific to the quest or person; i.e., they focus on specialty moves (for example sorcery, lightning, force, physical, etc.). There can be many non-combat abilities (or curses!) attached to these items, all defined by the DM (Master).

Items of power are used once per combat. To be able to us it most effectively in combat, all power items will be assigned a roll-type advantage from the DM (Master). These include, but aren't limited to, things like this:

  • May roll again on any *insert speciatly* move
  • May roll advantage on any *insert speciatly* move
  • Refresh a particular move (so it can be used again in the same combat)
  • Force a roll of disadvantage on a particular type of move used by an opponent
  • Removes half the DC needed to hit on a *insert speciatly* move

SABERS

Once per combat, if a character is level 4 in any saber form, they may roll advantage on a level 4 form move. The form should be listed on the combat sheets under the item of power table, and is in addition to an item of power.

How To Increase Saber Levels

Saber level 1: Take a general lesson (group or private)
Saber level 2: Take a lesson that teaches more than basics (group or private)
Saber level 3: Take an in-depth and advanced lesson from someone who is level 3 or 4 in that form (private lesson)
Saber level 4: Take an in-depth and advanced lesson from someone who is level 4 in that form and has the title Blademaster (private lesson)

Level 4 saber skill is available to those who have reached Lord level or above.

And let's keep the lessons reasonable, a max of ~2 or 3 a week.

TRIALS

The Trials are meant to weed out the weak and show Masters where the weakness in their potential apprentices are. A weak Sith will die during the trials. The Master assigns these trials, and they must be completed by the apprentice alone.

Trial of History
A Sith who does not understand where they come from are doomed to die an early death. They will make the mistakes of those who came before them and perish. They will be weak.

Trial of Power
Acquire an artifact of power.

Trial of Skill
The Master must give the Apprentice a very hard assignment, which they must fulfill alone. The Apprentice may not graduate from this trial until they have successfully completed their assignment.
To pass the Trial of Skill, a Sith Apprentice must fight courageously in battle, complete a mission with a low chance of survival, or defeat a superior enemy, and they must do so alone.

Trial of Passion
A Trial of Insight involved a Sith Apprentice confronting their fear and hatred. Only by mastering these emotions would a Sith prove worthy of further advancement.

Trial of Cunning
A true Sith must be skilled not only in defeating their prey, but in tracking them, controlling them, and having them hold the knife that slays them.

Trial of Loss/Sacrifice
A would-be Sith Lord must first prove their loyalty to the Sith Order and the Darkside of the Force. A Sith must sacrifice something or someone deeply important to them. It is common for the sacrifice to be the Sith’s family and/or associates. Such a sacrifice serves to sever all the Sith’s ties to their former life.
The exact subject of the sacrifice is entirely up to the Sith Master to determine. An Apprentice must perform the sacrifice personally in order to pass through this trial and claim the title of Sith Lord.

After thorough lessons on lightsabers, the apprentice must successfully forge and infuse a synth-crystal with dark side forces and form it into a viable lightsaber-powering crystal.

NOTE: In training, the student may learn no more than one skill and perform no more than one trial per week.


Sith Rank: After all trials and training have been completed but the character does not want to make a claim for the title of Lord.

Someone at Lord status is allowed to take on apprentices. To be assigned an apprentice, a player's character must demonstrate reliability in rp and be engaged in the guild, its characters, and its stories.

Must train to Master the following:
